Michael Kennedy (drums) - Horn
Mike Kennedy has been a professional drummer for over 40 years and has taught for over 20 years. He teaches contemporary pop and rock styles and specializes in double bass drum techniques. He also teaches rhythm and blues, funk, jazz fusion styles, and EDM (electronic dance music) drum grooves. Along with teaching these various styles, he also offers instruction in rhythm theory, reading, and transcribing drum patterns. Mike has taught private lessons for over 10 years both at the Resource Institute of Music in Hawaii, and also at his private drum studio, BeatCamp (beatcamp2.com). He has studied with Steve Smith, drummer with the rock band Journey, and also studied with Gary Chaffee of Berklee College of Music, Boston. Mike has performed with recording star, Stevie Wonder, pop vocalist and bassist, Peter Cetera from the band Chicago, and also jazz saxophonist, Tom Scott. Mike has logged hundreds of hours in the recording studio and has performed on the Las Vegas Strip at the Bellagio, NYNY, and other major venues.
