Summer Programs

Make This Summer Musical!

Family Music Centers has partnered with Palo Verde High School to offer a special summer series of group music programs for students and musicians who want to play, learn, create, and perform with others.

These programs will be held at Palo Verde High School and are designed for participants who want a fun, focused, and practical music experience during the summer. Whether you are brand new to music or already have experience, our summer classes are built to help you grow, stay motivated, and enjoy making music with others.

Programs run from late May through the end of July on Thursdays and Fridays. Each class meeting is one hour long. Space is limited for each class. Classroom locations will be sent via email once registration is complete.

Tuition: $199 for the full summer program. Thursday programs meet for 8 weeks.  

Dates: May 28, June 4, 25, July 2, 9, 16, 23, 30. There will be no Thursday classes on June 11 or June 18

Tuition: $179 for the full summer program. Friday programs meet for 7 weeks.

PALO VERDE HIGH SCHOOL

Michael New is a musician, educator, and author based in Summerlin, NV. He has been teaching privately since 2004 and joined the faculty at Family Music in 2011, where he now serves as Education Director. Michael studied classical guitar at Kennesaw State University and later pursued graduate work at The University of Texas at San Antonio. He teaches guitar, bass, piano, and ukulele, and brings over two decades of performance experience. He performs in jazz and classical settings and remains active in Nevada’s music community.

Giselle Rodríguez Montenegro is a Cuban musician, composer, and educator with over 20 years of international experience. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music from the University of the Arts in Cuba and is a certified Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), specializing in inclusive music education. Giselle spent 12 years directing the Cuban band Alma en Clave, blending jazz, Latin, and Afro-Cuban styles. She has performed across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and now teaches piano, guitar, and ukulele with a compassionate, creative approach that supports learners of all abilities.
